Ensuring Effective Use of Your Donation
The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation is grateful for gifts of any amount in support of the Foundation’s objectives. The Foundation Board of Directors disperses donated funds in a timely manner consistent with the priorities of the Hospital Board, the specific wishes of donors, the Foundation’s available resources and the legal obligation of the Foundation to prudently manage the collective portfolio of funds available.
Helping Us to be Flexible
Donors can provide the Foundation with the greatest flexibility to be responsive to existing and new priorities by making donations that are unrestricted or only broadly targeted. However, if you would like to direct your donation to a specific area or program, your contribution will be used to support the area or program of your choice.
Methods for Donating
Donations by cheque should be made to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation and mailed along with any specific instructions for intended use of the funds to:

Options for Support
There are a number of different ways that you can support the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation and we encourage you to choose the option that suits you.
Gifts of Securities
Stevenson Foundation encourages donors to consider giving gifts of securities (e.g., common stocks). For most donors there is a significant tax advantage to this approach. The Foundation has established a simple process for receiving such gifts and the necessary information can be obtained by contacting the Foundation Office at 705-435-6281, extension 3209. The Foundation policy for valuation of such gifts is based on the Revenue Canada recommendation, namely, the closing price on day the securities are received in the Foundation’s account. Donor’s will receive a tax receipt for that amount and, of course, by donating their securities to a charity will not have to pay capital gains tax.
Major Campaign
Gifts to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation can be made at any time during the year by mail or phone as described above. This provides donors the opportunity to choose the time of year that is best for them.
Tribute Program
Make a donation to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation in the name of someone special. It may be an ‘in honour’ donation and is a perfect gift for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or any other special occasion. You can also acknowledge a Stevenson Memorial Hospital staff member with a thoughtful gift.
Tribute gifts also include ‘in memory’ donations which honour the memory of a deceased friend or loved one and their family. Donation cards for such gifts are normally available at the local funeral home or can be obtained by calling us at (705) 435-6281, extension 3209

Organizations, businesses and even individuals can show their community spirit by sponsoring various Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation events. Our many annual special events and programs rely on sponsorship dollars to raise critical funds to meet our objectives.

Other Options
The Foundation welcomes gifts in the form of Workplace Matching Gift programs, Planned Giving through estates, donations through use of Insurance Policies, Endowed Gifts, andMonthly Donation programs.
